Every day, over half-a-million prescriptions for newer drugs prescribed to patients are denied by their insurance due to prior authorizations. These newer drugs which account for only 10% of prescriptions filled in the U.S. often represent significant improvement in treatment compliance, adverse drug management and cure for patients dealing with many complex diseases.
To obtain a prior authorization doctors are required to contact patient’s insurance and 90% of that interactions still happens via fax, leading to treatment delays or denials due to technical errors or insufficient data. We started Andote to build a human intelligence interface for prescription claims resolution so patients can access the treatment they need.
